Waimea Estates Nelson ‘Classic’ Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 09-Oct-2014
Bright pale straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, lighter on rim. This has a full, densely packed and intense nose with rounded aromas of lime fruit and exotic jasmine florals infused with honey, musk and sherbet, growing in volume with ethereal detail with aeration. Medium dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a softly concentrated core of lime, yellow floral, musk and honey flavours. The mouthfeel is finely textured with refined acidity, seamless in flow, following a gently unctuous line. The sweetness and richness is in balance and harmony, the wine growing in presence to blossom with lime, orange and honied flavours on a long, soft finish. This is a harmoniously rich, off-dry Riesling with honied and exotic flavours. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 5+ years. Fruit from the ‘Hunter’ and ‘Annabrook’ vineyards, cool-fermented to 12.0% alc. and 12.5 g/L RS, TA 7.9 g/L and pH 3.1, the wine given limited lees contact. 18.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $20.00
