Waimea Estates Nelson Albarino 2016

Other White from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 08-Dec-2016
Full, bright straw-yellow colour with some depth, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is tight and finely concentrated with good depth of white floral and lime fruit aromas along with mineral elements and suggestions of saline. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses vibrantly juicy, but tightly concentrated flavours of white florals, lime fruit, minerals and saline elements. The mouthfeel is bright with refreshing and slippery acidity and the wine flows along a fine-textured, smooth, phenolic line. There is plenty of acidity to provide energy, and the wine carries to an aromatic finish of white florals and minerals. This is a vibrant, slippery, dry Albarino with flavours of white florals, citrus fruits and salty minerals with good linearity. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood, and Asian cuisine over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the company’s ’Hope’ vineyard and from the ‘Harrey’ vineyard, fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and 4.3 g/L RS, TA 8.3 g/L and pH 3.14. 17.5-/20 Dec 2016 RRP $23.00
