Waimea Estates Nelson Albarino 2015

Other White from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 03-Nov-2015
The second release of this label, the fruit from the ‘Hope’ vineyard, tank-fermented to 12.0% alc. and 4 g/L RS. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, lighter edged. This has a very fresh, lifted and aromatic nose of limes, yellow florals and subtle spice and honeysuckle notes that blossom in volume and depth. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a tight and concentrated core of white stonefruits, yellow florals and citrus fruits. The mouthfeel is racy and slippery with brisk, zesty, but fine acidity. The wine flows smoothly with vibrant underlying acidity lending electric tension and energy. The fruit richness and the acidity are balanced and carry the wine to a very long citrus and floral flavoured finish. This is a crisp, slippery and racy Albarino with stonefruit and floral flavours. Serve with seafood and Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. 17.5+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $23.00
