Waimea Estates Nelson Albarino 2014

Other White from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 09-Oct-2014
The first commercial bottling of this variety for Waimea Estates. Cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 4.7 g/L RS, the wine aged 1 month of fine lees. Brilliant, even straw-yellow colour with some green-gold hues, paler on rim. This has a very tightly bound and penetrating nose of acacia and white florals, with mouthwatering citrus zest and peachy, minerally notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, intense and deep flavours of florals, white sronefruits and citrus zest are enlivened by lively, elevated, slippery acidity. The wine has a soft honied mouthfeel and texture, but is poised between lusciousness and cut. A very fine-textured, dry line carries the flavours to a moderately sustained, soft finish. This is a soft-textured, dry Albarino with intense white floral flavours and slippery and refreshing acidity. Serve with seafood, poultry and Asian fare over the next 3+ years. 16.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $23.00
