Considerable viticultural work yielded three parcels of fruit with desired physiological ripeness at lower sugar levels. Cool-fermented to 8.0% alc. and 9.3 g/L rs. The wine is deemed to be 30% lower in alcohol and calories than the regular Sauvignon Blanc. Very pale straw colour, this has a soft and gentle nose of gooseberries, passionfruit and herbs, quite fresh in expression. Dry to taste, this is light weighted with pronounced acidity featuring on the palate. Light gooseberry and passionfruit flavours show with purity, and the wine is taut and lean in mouthfeel. The bracing acidity carries the flavours to a moderate length finish. A summer's day drink to serve at lunch or with seafood and antipasto over the next 18 months 15.5-/20 Sep 2011 RRP $19.00
