Full, dark ruby-red colour with purple hues, youthful in appearance. This has an elegant, finely expressed bouquet with aromas of spiced, dark plum fruit with notes of savoury musk, earth and violet florals providing good perfume lift. Medium-bodied, juicy dark-red plum fruit flavours are intermixed with subtle, savoury musk and game elements along with floral interest. The fruit has a good core, and the succulence is enhanced by bright acidity. Moderately extracted, supple tannins provide some textural structure, and the wine has a clean, spicy-fruit finish. This is a supple, juicy Pinot Noir-like red with attractive spicy fruit flavours. Sever with pasta, pizza and barbecued food over the next 4+ years. Vinified as Pinot Noir, totally destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine was aged 12 months in seasoned French oak.
