Volcanic Hills Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Apr-2014
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is fresh and brash with deep aromas of gooseberry fruit intermixed with limes, grass and nettles, in a classically cool Awatere style. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, intense and up-front herbaceous flavours of gooseberries, nettles, grass and blackcurrant leaf form a deep core, with brisk and racy acidity lending a slippery mouthfeel. This has good concentration and the fruit depth has the drive to carry the fruit along a very fine textured line to a lingering finish. This is a herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc with deep gooseberry and nettly fruit, and brisk, racy, slippery acidity. Serve with shellfish and goats cheese over the next 2 years. Awatere fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. 17.0+20 Apr 2014 RRP $22.95
