Volcanic Hills Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Mar-2013
Marlborough Pinot Gris cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.4% alc. and 6.7 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour with hints of gold and a suggestion of blush. This has a fresh, lifted, upfront and aromatic bouquet of yellow stonefruits, exotic florals and pear drops, revealing some minerally notes in glass. Dryish to taste, soft and gentle flavours of white stonefruits, florals and pears rest on a soft and smooth-textured palate. A rounded mouthfeel is enhanced by restrained acidity. Subtle, perfumed pears notes flow to a light, but vinous finish of moderate length. This is an attractively aromatic off-dry Pinot Gris with a light flavoured, smooth palate. Serve with antipasto and mild Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. 16.0+/20 Mar 2013 RRP $24.95
