Volcanic Hills Central Otago Rosé 2012

Rose from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 27-Mar-2013
Light pink colour with some depth and slight purple hues on rim. The nose is gently full with aromas of savoury strawberry and red cherry fruit, bon-bon confectionary, violetty florals and hints of herbs. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, light, up-front and accessible fruit flavours of strawberries and cherries, boiled sweets and nuts show with some depth and concentration. The mouthfeel is slippery from the acidity, but the palate has a driven core that results in a firm linearity. The flavours lead to a frim, dry finish with some alcohol warmth noticeable. This is a smooth flowing, dry, strawberry-fruited Pinot Noir rosé with a firmness. Serve with charcuterie and antipasto over the next 18 months. Made from Central Otago Pinot Noir, fermented to 14.0% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs, the wine undergoing French oak maturation. 15.5+/20 Mar 2013 RRP $24.95
