Hawke’s Bay fruit given up to 6 hours skin contact and fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3 g/L RS, the wine given light oak treatment. Bright, light straw-yellow colour with some depth, paler on edge. The bouquet is full and smooth in presentation, with broad openly accessible and even aromas of citrus fruits melded with butterscotch and lemon-curd MLF, along with melon, stonefruit, nutty and oak suggestions. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the mouthfeel is soft and rounded with upfront citrus, tropical fruit and butterscotch flavours. Buttery MLF and nutty oak adds interest. The mouthfeel is creamy, but laced with brisk acidity, and the wine leads to a soft, textured finish. This is a soft, rounded, creamy Chardonnay with citrussy fruit and buttery MLF flavours.
