Vista Nelson Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 02-Dec-2015
Clones 667 and 115 from the ‘Vista’ vineyard, from vines 6 y.o., fully destemmed and fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 10 month in 40% new oak. Moderately dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. This has a fresh, intense and concentrated nose of aromatically bright dark red berry and cherry fruit, entwined with subtle herbal and liquorice detail and a delicate volatile lift. Medium-full bodied, the palate features sweet dark red berry fruit flavours along with cherry fruit, herbs and liquorice, and a lifted floral note. This is vibrantly sweet and lively, and the palate possesses supple tannin structure and fresh, lacy acidity. The wine has good linearity leading to a dry, lingering finish of cherries and red liquorice. This is a bright, fresh, sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with a supple mouthfeel. Match with poultry, pork and Asian fare over the next 3+ years. 17.5-/20 Dec 2015 RRP $25.00
