Vista Nelson Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 08-Jun-2018
Bright, light yellow colour with some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with up-front and open aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits along with an amalgam of honeysuckle and nutty notes, unfolding savoury yellow floral elements and some flintiness. Medium-dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has moderately full flavours of yellow stonefruits along with honeysuckle and savoury yellow florals, unveiling nuances of nuts and flint. The mouthfeel is soft and the fruit forms a rounded palate with good weight. Soft acidity adds to the richness and roundness, and the wine carries to s full, rich, yellow-fruited finish, revealing some phenolics and alcohol drive. This is a rich, full, rounded medium-dry Pinot Gris with yellow stonefruits, honeysuckle and savoury nutty and flinty notes finishing with a little grip. Match with Middle Eastern fare over the next 3-4 years. 75% clone 52B and 25% Lincoln Berry Smith, tank fermented to 13.5% alc. and 7 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Jun 2018 RRP $18.00
