Vista Nelson Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 26-Jan-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with suggestions of blushed light gold, pale on rim. The nose is full and upfront with good depth of ripe, savoury yellow stonefruits entwined with gentle spice, exotic floral and honeysuckle notes, along with subtle mineral and flinty lees nuances. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, ripe flavours of yellow stonefruits, florals and honey show with succulence and richness, and are enlivened by soft acidity. Subtle flinty and mineral elements add interest. This has good mouthfeel and presence with fine phenolic textures and some alcohol power underlining the fruit, leading to a dry, fine, but firm finish with good length. This is an off-dry, full-flavoured Pinot Gris with ripe stonefruit and honeysuckle flavours and some fine textures and power. Serve with most white meat courses and Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine over the next 3-4+ years. Fruit fermented in stainless-steel to 14.5% alc. and 5.0 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Jan 2015 RRP $20.00
