Vino Lascito Rubicone Sangiovese IGT 2016

Sangiovese from Italy - Other
Review Date : 11-Oct-2018
Full, even, dark ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is softly fresh with elegant and fragrant aromas of dark-red cherry fruit intermingling with dark-red berries, an earthy layering and suggestions of dried herbs, but the floral aromatics prevail. Medium-bodied, the palate has sweet fruit flavours of red berry fruit with cherries and herbs, and lifted earthy elements, all enlivened by balanced, fresh acidity. The fruit is underlined by light, grainy tannin grip which carries the wine to a lighter, dry finish of moderate length. This is a sweet-fruited Sangiovese with red cherry and berry fruit melded with earthy and dried herb flavours, brighted by fresh acidity on a light, grainy palate. Match with barbecued fare over the next 3+ years. Sangiovese fruit from the Bidente Valley in the Rubicone region of Emilia-Romagna, Italy, fermented to 13.0% alc. 17.5-/20 Oct 2018 RRP $16.95
