Vino Blanco Waipara Valley Riesling 2010

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 29-Aug-2013
Fullish straw-yellow colour with green hues. This has a softly concentrated bouquet with complex secondary aromas from bottle development. Citrus fruit aromas are interwoven with honey, toast, and cream with refreshing steely mineral elements. Medium-dry to taste, gentle and harmoniously integrated flavours of ripe lemons, honey and toast flow smoothly and seamlessly across the palate. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy, with restrained acidity, and the flavours are finely proportioned, quite elegant, showing no signs of broadness. A toast and honied flourish features on the moderately sustained finish. This is a soft-textured, off-dry Riesling that has developed harmoniously with complex honey and toast flavours. Serve as an aperitif or with mildly spicy Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the Glasnevin Gravels, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.7% alc. and 11.8 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Aug 2013 RRP $ 19.99
