Vincent Girardin Meursault ‘Le Limozin’ 2009

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 08-Dec-2011
Brilliant pale straw-yellow, even in colour. This has a tightly packed and dense nose with elegant and restrained aromas of ripe citrus fruits and obvious oak nuttiness and spice. The Meursault fullness emerges with some time in glass. Lusciously rich , softly broad and openly presented with ripe yellow stonefruit flavours, mealy, nutty elements sit alongside toasty oak, and the flavours are carried by excellent acidity to a more subtle finish. Though a little shy on nose, this is quite complete on palate. One to enjoy over 3-5 years.  Dec 2011  RRP $73.00 Light straw-yellow in colour with a very pale edge, the nose is still youthful and fresh, but typically Meursault with its openness and ripe peachy aromas backed by subtle reduction-based complexities. The palate shows a structure of richness and breadth, the peachy flavours still tight and somewhat unforthcoming at present. Excellent freshness and acidity, with fine, firm mouthfeel indicate this has the potential to develop and display its provenance over the next 5-7 years.  Jul 2011
