Vincent Girardin Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 23-Oct-2013
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with some youthful purple hues. The nose is firm and densely packed with very ripe fruit aromas of black plums and dark red berry fruits, revealing whole bunch dried herb complexities and good oak balance for the richness. The nose is concentrated and brooding with much to unfold. Medium-full bodied, rich and succulently ripe dark plum fruit flavours are complemented by oak shine. Grainy tannins, oak-derived, add to the palate weight and drive. Restrained acidity contributes to the fullness and density of the mouthfeel and allows the fulsome structure to feature, carrying the palate to a succulent fruited, sustained finish. This is a fully ripened Grands Echezeaux with the oak adding to the robust structure. This will develop over the next 9-12 years. 18.5+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $469.00
