Vincent Girardin Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 29-Apr-2012
Fruit purchased as a negociant. Full, dark, deep, purple-hued ruby red colour, near lurid, and youthful. The nose is fully packed with concentrated ripe black fruits, spices, violets, raspberry essence and confectionary aromas. Full-bodied, this is in the very ripe spectrum, with rich, lush flavours of raspberry liqueur and violet essence, quite sweet in expression. Oaking is in balance with the fruit exuberance. A fine tannin structure underlines the palate, and with the acidity, this is smooth textured and well-balanced in mouthfeel. This is very much in the modern, ‘New World' style, and will drink well over the next 8-10 years. 18.0+/20 Apr 2012 RRP $240.00
