Vincent Girardin Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2009

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 15-May-2013
Pale straw colour and youthfully clear on rim. The nose is very elegant and fine, with tightly held aromas of white florals, minerals and nuts that build with subtle and intricate savoury stonefruit and toasty nuances. The balance between purity and complex corruption hints is remarkable. Medium-bodied, the palate is one of finesse, elegance and proportion, with gentle and delicate flavours of florals, stonefruits flint and nuts that slowly unfold. The mouthfeel is a combination of power, drive and steely cut, and with the finest phenolic thread. Fine, lacy acidity and liveliness is present and carries the flavours to a very long finish. This is classical Chevalier-Montrachet with modern finesse and reductive complexities. 8-9+ years. From 0.15 ha, from vines 55 y.o., the wine aged 20 months in 35% new oak. 19.0+/20 May 2013 RRP $410.00
