Vincent Girardin Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru ‘Le Cailleret’ 2007

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 07-Jul-2011
Brilliant light, straw-yellow colour with golden hues, this has a very fine-grained and intense bouquet of ripe citrus and peach aromas along with spice and toasty oak elements, the aromas still tight and backward in presentation. A very tight and concentrated wine on palate, the fruit flavours of peach and citrus fruits form a core to which complexing, savoury flintiness and oak spicin add layers of interest. Fresh, near-racy acidity and a little textural grip provide tension and palate length. At this stage, the wine is still unformed, but shows its serious and potential to develop over the next 6-8 years.  Jul 2011
