Vincent Chaudray Crémant de Bourgogne Brut NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 04-Feb-2014
Light golden-hued straw-yellow colour with a light blush aspect, and a moderately fine and persistent bead. The bouquet is softly full with good volume of yellow stonefruits and a suggestion of red fruits along with harmoniously melded bread and yeast elements and nutty bottle-age notes. Dryish to taste, this is full and gently broad on palate with mellow, up-front flavours of savoury, nutty stonefruits, some red berry fruits and yeasty notes. This is Pinot Noir and autolysis expressive. The palate has some creaminess from the effervescence, and follows a slightly phenolic, dry-textured line. The graininess and acidity provide a thirst-quenching a mouthfeel, and the flavours carry through to a light, stonefruit finish. This is a gentle, broad crémant with stonefruit and bready flavours and light textures. Serve with canapés and tapas over the next 2 years. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fermented to 12.0% alc. 17.0/20 Feb 2014 RRP $19.99
