Vina Muriel Rioja Gran Reserva 2004

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 01-Mar-2013
Very full, dark and deep black-red colour. The bouquet is multi layered and multi-faceted with concentrated aromas of ripe black fruits, earth and leather, melding with spicy, cedary oak, lifted with ethereal perfumes. Full-bodied, this is packed with sweetly ripe black berry fruits and plums, exuding liquorice and cedar, oak spices and hints of truffle and game. The palate shows serious extraction, presence and dense mouthfeel. The tannins are very fine-grained but are balanced by the fruit richness and the plate carries to a very long, lush, but textured finish. This will develop over the next decade. 19.5-/20 Feb 2013 RRP $47.00
