Vina Ainzon Campo de Borja Garnacha/Tempranillo 2012

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 12-Dec-2013
Very full, even, dark purple-hued ruby colour, youthful in appearance. This has an elegant and intensely fruity bouquet of dark raspberry aromas, present with harmoniously integrated ripe jam elements. Dryish to taste, light, up-front and juicy raspberry fruit flavours feature on the palate. The fruit is supported by fine, granny tannin textures providing good structure, with fresh acidity adding some liveliness to the mouthfeel. The extraction grows and carries the flavours to a dry, firm finish with good length. This is an up-front, sweet-fruited Grenache-based red with firm structure in support. Serve with pastas, barbecued food and most red meat dishes over the next 3-4 years. 70% Garnacha and 30% Tempranillo from Campo de Borja vineyards at 550-600 m a.s.l., fermented to 13.5% alc. Made by Bodegas Santo Cristo. 16.0+/20 Dec 2013 RRP $14.99
