Villa Maria ‘Single Vineyard – Seddon’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Nov-2015
Brilliant pale lemon-straw colour with green hues. This is very fine and tight with a core of white and yellow stonefruits along with subtle floral, honeysuckle and nutty elements. This has elegance and purity. Off-dry to taste, the palate features a substantial core with body and underlying power. The wine retains a degree of elegance, the acidity softening, flowing smoothly. This has linearity allied to restraint, and the wine carries to a long nutty finish. Fruit from the ‘Seddon’ aWATERE vineyard, hand-picked and WBP, 20% indigenous yeast fermented with 20% in seasoned oak barrels to 13.5% alc. and 8 g/L RS. 18.0+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $29.99
