Villa Maria ‘Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2009

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 07-Feb-2011
the Trophy Chardonnay from the 2010 ANZWA, made from fruit, 43% Waikahu, 29% Bartleet and 28% Ngakirikiri sites, 42% indigenous yeast fermented, all in barrels, of which 43% were new to 13.5% alc. The wine was aged 10 months in oak and underwent 100% MLF. This is ultra-modern, ultra-trendy elegantly structured wine with fine nutty, citrusy aromas and flavours along with complexing sulphides, which are all the rage. This restrained style of wine will live 4-6 years easily.  Dec 2010
