Villa Maria ‘Private Bin’ Hawke’s Bay Arneis 2011

Arneis from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 28-Mar-2012
Brilliant straw-yellow colour, pale on edge. This has a clean and fresh nose of citrus fruit and honeysuckle, with delicate notes of herbs and minerals, the bouquet lively and lifted. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this is open and full-flavoured showing accessible citrus fruit and yellow floral flavours along with herbs and nuts. This is soft and gently mouthfilling, the wine possessing good presence and vinosity. Quite soft and round, the acidity is restrained, and the wine carries moderate length and a slightly drying finish. This Arneis has an attractive range of flavours and good up-front presence. Serve with antipasto, seafood and poultry over the next 2+ years. Fruit predominantly from the ‘VPL' vineyard near Clive, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 2.46 g/L rs, the wine given lees contact. 17.0+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $21.99
