Villa Maria ‘Private Bin’ ‘Early Release’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Jun-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless. The bouquet is fresh and gently intense and voluminous with soft passionfruit aromas, revealing notes of tropical fruits, citrus and gooseberries. Dry to taste and light-weighted, gentle and up-front passionfruit flavours show with notes of fresh herbs and gooseberries. This is straightforward and varietal, with a positive core. There is liveliness to the mouthfeel pleasingly enhanced by soft, slippery acidity. A little tingling brightness underlines the palate and the flavours flow smoothly to a soft, dry finish. This is a soft and light, straightforward, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc that is very accessible. Serve with seafood, vegetables and salads over the next 2 years. Approximately equal portions of Awatere and Wairau Valley fruit given some skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.2 g/L rs. 16.5+/20 Jun 2013 RRP $22.00
