Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape 2009

Grenache from France - Rhone
Review Date : 17-May-2012
65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault plus other varieties, the wine aged 18-20 months in foudre and concrete tanks. Moderately dark ruby-red, this is softly presented on bouquet with accessible red fruits, with lifted red florals and notes of earth and leather. Medium-full bodied, the palate is tightly bound still, quite linear, with red berry fruits with some resiny oak elements. The tannins are very fine-grained and rein-in the richness a little. This is an elegant style that will be supple and accessible, enabling enjoyment over the next 6-8+ years.  18.0/20  May 2012  RRP $110.00
