Vidal ‘Reserve Series’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Jun-2013
Fruit from 65% Awatere and 35% Wairau valleys, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 2.8 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is softly full and densely presented with grassy, gooseberry fruit aromas just beginning to show some bean-like secondary development. Dry to taste, lush fruit flavours of grass, nettle and gooseberries are the feature. The fruit is enhanced by lacy acidity and the mid-palate has a deliciously juicy, mouthwatering richness. Some bottle-age indicators of bean flavours are apparent, and the melange of flavours flows to a fresh, fruity and crisp finish. This is a lush, grassy and mouthwatering Sauvignon Blanc to serve with salads, vegetables and Mediterranean fare over the next 2+ years. 17.5-/20 Jun 2013 RRP $23.00
