Vavasour Awatere Valley Marlborough Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Nov-2016
Bright, even, straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter edged. The bouquet is tightly bound with aromas of lime fruit and white florals entwined with subtle, secondary toasty elements and mouthwatering mineral nuances. The nose builds with fine intensity in the glass. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, this has an elegantly concentrated core of lime fruit, white florals and minerals along with subtle secondary toast layers. The mouthfeel is refreshing and racy with brisk acidity and the wine flows along a very fine-textured line with good drive and energy. The flavours lead to a sustained, thirst-quenching finish of citrus fruit, toast and minerals. This is a tightly concentrated dry Riesling with lime and floral flavour and some secondary toasty notes on a firm, brisk palate. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 4-5 years. Awatere Valley fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 6.46 g/L RS, TA 8.3 g/l and pH 3.11. 18.5/20 Nov 2016 RRP $21.00
