Vavasour Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Aug-2012
114, 115, 667 and 777 clone fruit from the Vavasour ‘Home' vineyard fermented to 14.4% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 30% new French oak. Moderately deep ruby-red colour with a little purple. This has a deep-fruited, bright bouquet of dark red berry fruit with a subtle underlay of dark herbs. Medium-bodied, round, ripe and sweet dark red berry and cherry fruit flavours are presented boldly, and supported by supple, restrained tannins. The acidity is mildly expressed and the mouthfeel has a suggestion of plumpness. This is a juicy, up-front Pinot Noir that will match duck and pork over the next 4-5 years. 3,200 cases made. 18.0-/20 Aug 2012 RRP $33.50
