Fruit from vines planted 1981 from the ‘Black Ridge’ vineyard in Alexandra, fermented to 12.0% alc. and dryness, with TA 7.5 g/L and pH 3.14. Bright, pale straw colour with green hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is refined and elegant in proportion with intense and penetrating perfumes of lifted jasmine florals, fresh fermentation esters, delicate lime and musk nuances, all intermixed with beauty and intricacy. This exudes finesse and class. Dry to taste and medium-light bodied, the palate features a fine and deep core from the fruit extract. Rich, but dry flavours of exotic florals, musk and honey are interwoven with wet stone and mineral nuances. The mouthfeel is very soft, smooth and seamless, with discreet, ripe acidity providing gentle drive and poise. The flavours flow effortlessly to a very long, sustained finish. This is a refined and seamless, exotic dry Riesling with great fruit depth. Serve as an aperitif and delicate seafood or canapés over the next 5-6 years. 319 dozen made. 19.0/20 Dec 2013 RRP $30.00
