Urlar Gladstone Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 16-Jan-2012
Bright, very pale straw colour with some green hues, near colourless on rim. This is elegant on nose with building and penetrating aromas of limes, gooseberries and passionfruit, finely expressed but with real concentration. Dry to taste, this has gently succulent flavours of ripe gooseberries with passionfruit notes enlivened by lush acidity. The flavours form a dense core, and the palate features very fine, smooth and seamless textures. The finish is refined and lingering with nuances of passionfruit and fresh herbs. This is an elegant and classy Sauvignon Blanc that will match seafood, poultry, salads and vegetables over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Urlar' vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel, with a small portion in seasoned oak barrels, to 14.0% alc. and 3.0 g/L rs. Certified organic. 18.5-/20 Jan 2012 RRP $22.50
