Urlar Gladstone Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 16-Jan-2012
Single vineyard wine, the fruit hand-picked and cool-fermented to 12.0% alc. and 4.0 g/L rs, the wine given time on lees. Brilliant, soft pale straw colour, clear on edge. The bouquet shows restrained aromas of yellow florals, limes, with savoury stonefruits, smoke and mineral notes. Dry on palate, this shows good body and vinosity, the flavours of yellow flowers, stonefruits, lime and earth combined with a sweet and sour note. A subtle textural thread provides palate line, and the wine has a moderately long finish with slippery acidity. Match this savoury and textural Riesling with tapas and Mediterranean cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Certified organic. 16.0-/20 Jan 2012 RRP $22.50
