Urlar Gladstone Noble Riesling 2009

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 12-Dec-2012
Deep light golden-yellow colour with a pale edge, this has a very intense, concentrated bouquet of lime marmalade, wild honey with citrus, blossom and floral elements. The botrytis is powerful and exotic. Very sweet on palate, this is soft and decadently lush, with flavours of honey, marmalade and dried apricots, that sit with density. The acidity is soft and allows the wine to flow across the palate easily and with breadth. A little more crispness and tension would lift this into the outstanding class. Nevertheless, absolutely delicious drinking, this will match rich desserts such as crème caramel and crème brulee, As well as blue cheeses over the next 3-4+ years. Made from hand-picked fruit and fermented to 13.0% alc., with 115 g/L rs. (375 ml) 17.5+/20 Mar 2011 RRP $28.35
