Umathum Zweigelt 2011

Other Red from Austria
Review Date : 16-Mar-2015
Very dark, near impenetrable, black-red colour, youthful in appearance. The bouquet is vibrantly fruity and fresh with elegantly concentrated aromas of black cherries and berry fruits intermingling with fresh redcurrant and dark herbs. Medium-bodied light and restrained black and red cherry and redcurrant fruit flavours are complexed by a thread of cassis, dark herbs and subtle mocha oak-like elements. The mouthfeel is supple in texture with gentle tannin extraction the grows to provide balance and harmony. This has freshness and good acid tension, and the wine is youthfully primary in expression. This is a fresh and well-balanced, fruity Zweigelt. 4+ years. Burgenland. 12.5% alc. 17.5/20 Mar 2015 RRP $45.00
