Umani Ronchi ‘Cumaro’ Conero Riserva DOCG 2009

Montepulciano from Italy - Other
Review Date : 10-Apr-2014
100% Montepulciano from Osimo, hand-picked and indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged one year in barriques. Very full, near saturated black-red colour. This has a softly rich and voluminous bouquet of ripe dark red fruits unfolding subtle layers and nuances of savoury game, cedar and oak. Full-bodied, ripe, sweet and rich flavours of savoury red fruits are melded with game and cedary oak flavours. The mouthfeel is hearty, lush and fleshy with plenty of structure and tannin grip in support. Bright acidity enhances the liveliness on the palate providing an energetic flow. This is quite accessible, but possesses good alcoholic power, drive and line, that carries the flavours to a concentrated, dry and textural finish. This is a full, rich, fruity Conero red with open structure and heartiness. Match with slow-cooked meats and casseroles over the next 8-10 years. 3,800 dozen made. 18.5+/20 Apr 2014 RRP $46.99
