Tyrrell’s ‘Lost Block’ Hunter Valley Chardonnay 2012

Chardonnay from Australia - NSW
Review Date : 10-Mar-2014
Named after a block of vines ‘forgotten’ and picked late. Chardonnay fruit cool-fermented to 12.5% alc, the wine aged on lees. Bright, green-hued straw-yellow colour, pale on edge. The nose is fresh, fine and tight with moderately intense citrus fruit aromas, showing with good vibrancy. Dry to taste and elegant in proportion, restrained and shy flavours of citrus fruits show with some sweetness, the freshness enhanced by racy, crisp acidity. This has a firm palate line, tending austere and mouthwatering, with a thread of phenolic grippiness carrying the flavours to a light, dry finish. This is a crisp, light, near-austere, citrussy Chardonnay with brisk acidity. Serve with seafood and creamy sauce poultry dishes over the next 2-3 years. 16.0+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $22.00
