Fruit from three north-facing vineyards in the southern clay soils of the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 1.8 g/L rs. Partial maturation in French oak employed Bright pale straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The nose is softly fresh and evenly presented with bright gooseberry fruit aromas along with lifted floral and lime notes. Dry to taste, this is gently full and quite up-front with flavours of gooseberries, citrus fruits and florals, openly accessible and smoothly textured. Good acidity keeps the wine lively and contributes to a long, crisp and zesty finish. This is a softly fresh and easy, mouthfilling Sauvignon Blanc to match seafood, vegetables and salads over the next 2 years. 17.5-/20 Apr 2012 RRP $22.95
