Two Tails Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 31-May-2015
Dark, moderately deep ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on rim. The nose is well packed with soft dark raspberry fruit aromas entwined with subtle herb notes, revealing some liquorice and minerally nuances with aeration. The aromatics grow in depth. Medium-bodied, the fruit is initially restrained, but blooms to show soft raspberry notes with herbs, liquorice and some mineral elements. The fruit is sweet and juicy, and the acidity soft and rounded, and the palate is balanced by fine, grainy, drying tannins that provide good structure and support. The wine has good fruit at the core and carries to a dry, soft-textured, lingering finish. This is a soft, raspberry-fruited Pinot Noir supported by dry tannin structure. Serve with poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from north-facing vineyards in the Wairau Valley, hand-picked, destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged for several months in French oak. 16.5+/20 May 2015 RRP $22.95
