Two Tails Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Sep-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on rim. This has a fresh and lifted aromatic nose of exotic florals, pear drops and honeysuckle intermixed with youthful fermentation esters. The aromas have intensity and build in concentration in the glass. Dry to taste, the palate features a concentrated core of stonefruits and florals harmoniously melded with mineral and esters notes. The mouthfeel has a phenolic textural line and brisk acidity, underlining the fruit and leading the wine to a moderately long finish along with some alcohol power. This is a crisp, tightly held, exotically aromatic dry Pinot Gris with some phenolic drive. Match with seafood, poultry and Asian fare over the next 3 years. Fruit from the Waihopi Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 2.4 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Sep 2014 RRP $21.95
