Two Sisters Central Otago Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 27-Jul-2015
Dark ruby-red colour with hints of purple, lighter on edge. The nose is elegantly concentrated with aromas of dark cherry and red berry fruits harmoniously interwoven with soft earthy and dried herb nuances. Medium-bodied, elegant fruit flavours of red cherries and berries are lifted by red florals, and show primary fruit expression. The fruit has sweetness and is supported by grainy tannin extraction that lends a dry mouthfeel. The fruit has dried herb and earthy detail that emerges, and the fruitiness gives way to the textures. Lacy acidity carries the wine to a moderately sustained finish. This is an elegant red cherry and berried Pinot Noir with soft earthy notes and a dry, grainy mouthfeel. Match with roasted red meats and casseroles over the next 4 years. Fruit from the ‘Two Sisters’ vineyard, destemmed, given a cold soak and indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 21-25 days on skins and aged 11 months in seasoned oak. 16.5+/20 Jul 2015 RRP $45.00
