Two Sisters Central Otago Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 03-Aug-2014
Ruby-red colour with some depth and lighter garnet hues on the rim. The bouquet is very smooth, mellow and harmonious, with soft plum, cedar, earth and game aromas seamlessly interwoven with spices, mushrooms and dried herb elements, lifted by a touch of volatility. Medium-bodied and elegantly proportioned, seamless and succulently sweet flavours of spiced plums and soft red berry fruits intermingle with cedary oak, dried herbs and toast. The mouthfeel is velvety and smooth flowing, flowing a very fine-grained, textural core. Discreet acidity adds to the linearity, and the wine leads to a refined, very long, lingering finish. This is a very smooth, sweet and succulent Pinot Noir with cedary, spicy oak and complex secondary flavour and a velvety-textured mouthfeel. Serve with roasted duck or pork, and with Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine over the next 3-5 years. Indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 14 months in barrel. 18.0-/20 Aug 2014 RRP $45.00
