Two Sisters Central Otago Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 26-Apr-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues on the rim. The nose is softly fresh with bright, pure, aromatic pear and white stonefruit notes, along with exotic florals, nuances of rose-petals, honeysuckle and youthful fermentation esters. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate possesses fresh and lifted fruit flavours of pears along with exotic florals, yellow stonefruits and honeysuckle. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded, the wine smooth-textured and integrated with gentle acidity. The fruit core blossoms as it flows with some alcoholic drive, to a long and sustained finish of flowers, honey and pears. This is a dry, rounded Pinot Gris with aromatic fruit, a smooth flow and some alcoholic power. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Two Sisters’ vineyard, hand-picked, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented in seasoned oak to 14.5% alc. and < 2 g/L RS. 17.5+/20 Apr 2016 RRP $29.00
