Two Sisters Central Otago Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 03-Aug-2014
Hand-picked fruit, WBP and barrel-fermented with indigenous yeasts to 14.3% alc. Bright, pale straw colour with lemon-green hues. This has an elegantly proportioned bouquet with good depth and densely packed aromas of savoury white stonefruits, along with subtle barrel-ferment nuttiness, hints of toast, earth, and a piquant flintiness. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, moderately rich and luscious fruit flavours of stonefruits and nuts form a rounded, but positive core with good line and drive. Subtle layers of toast, nuts and aromatic fruits unfold, and savoury, secondary oxidative nuances emerge adding complexity, carrying through to a long and sustained finish. This is an elegant, dry Pinot Gris with rich stonefruit and toasty flavours along with nutty development. Match with Mediterranean fare over the next 3+ years. 17.5/20 Aug 2014 RRP $24.00
