Two Rivers ‘Wairau Selection’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Sep-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour with the faintest suggestion of a blush. This has a softly full nose of subtly aromatic spiced pear fruit with some exotic rose-petal florals harmoniously interwoven, all expressed with finesse. Off-dry to taste, the refinement and elegance of the palate is the feature. Bright, lively and delicate flavours of white stonefruits and pears are detailed by spices and rose-petal notes and a little honey. The flavours have linearity with a balanced mouthfeel, the acidity mouthwatering and refreshing. Fine textures are at the core, with good concentration that is carried through to a very long, sustained, lively finish. This is a refined, concentrated off-dry Pinot Gris with linearity, freshness and balance. Serve with Thai, Vietnamese or Japanese fare ober the next 3-4 years. Fruit from two sites in the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 5.5 g/L RS, with 10% aged in seasoned French oak, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 18.0-/20 Sep 2013 RRP $25.00
