Two Rivers ‘Wairau Selection’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Feb-2013
100% Pinot Gris from four sites in the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless steel to 13.5% alc. and 4 g/L rs, 10% of the wine aged in seasoned French oak, and the wine undergoing 10 months lees contact. Bright, very pale straw colour with a little green hue, pale on rim. The nose is softly full and fresh with aromas of yellow stonefruits, honeysuckle and minerals, lifted with floral fragrances. Dryish to taste and light-bodied, gentle flavours of white and yellow stonefruits reveal honeysuckle notes, forming a slightly grainy, textural core and palate line with brisk acidity. The mouthfeel is lively and has vigour through mid-palate flowing to a light and more restrained finish carried by the acidity. This is a light, brisk and fruity, dryish Pinot Gris with some grainy textures. Serve with antipasto and with Asian fare over the next 3-4 years. 17.0+/20 Feb 2013 RRP $22.00
