Two Rivers Tributary Pinot Noir 2018, Marlborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-May-2021
Moderate ruby-red with a black hue, good transparency, lighter on the rim. The nose is fragrant and delicate, nuances of red cherries, strawberries leading the bouquet, unfolding subtle spices, sweet vanilla and floral perfume. Medium-bodied, aromas of red cherries, strawberries entwined with red florals, unfolding black pepper, sweet vanilla and cola nut. The tannin is supple and silky, provides a light grip; the vibrant acid line brings a fresh finish with thyme and warming spices. This is a harmonious red-fruited Pinot Noir adorned by florals and spices on a silky palate. Match with crispy pork belly and roasted duck over the next 5 years. Fruit was sourced from Brookby Hill, Southern Valleys, clones 5, 115, 667, 777 and 10/5. Handpicked, wild fermented to 13% alc with 40% whole bunch. Aged in French oak cuves (75%) and seasoned French oak barrels (25%) for 11 months, unfiltered. 18.5+/20 (94 pts) May 2021 RRP $36
