Two Rivers ‘Tributary’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Aug-2016
Even ruby-red colour with purple hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is softly full and layered with complex aromas of dark-red berry fruits entwined with dark herbs and whole bunch stalk notes. Nuances of dark raspberries, red liquorice and ethereal dark red florals unfold with aeration. Medium-bodied, softly rich flavours of dark-red berry fruits are melded with dark herbs, savoury whole bunch stalk notes and red liquorice, and gently fill the palate. The mouthfeel is soft-textured with supple tannin extraction and balanced by fresh, lacy acidity. This has a gently packed, harmonious heart, and the wine carries to a soft, lingering finish of dark raspberries and herbs. This is a softly rich and supple Pinot Noir with flavours of dark raspberries and red liquorice complexed by whole bunch stalk and herb complexities. Serve with wild duck and pork over the next 5+ years. Clone 5, 115, 667, 777 and 10/5 fruit, 50% from Southern Valleys, 25% Upper Wairau and 25% Ward, hand-picked and fermented partially by indigenous yeasts with 30% whole clusters to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 25% new French oak. 1,000 cases made. 18.0+/20 Aug 2016 RRP $36.00
