Two Rivers ‘L’Ile de Beauté’ Marlborough Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Aug-2016
Bright, pale pink with youthful purple hues and some depth, lighter on the rim. This has a very elegant and tightly bound nose with delicate and pure aromas of strawberries, cherries and pomegranate, unfolding nuances of red florals and thirst-quenching minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, finely concentrated and tightly bound flavours of strawberries, cherries and pomegranate show with depth and intensity, unfolding red florals and nuances of lifted confectionary. The palate has drive and energy with integrated acidity, and follows a soft, fine-featured line leading to gentle finish with mouthwatering flavours of strawberries and minerals. This is a tight and concentrated dry rosé with a good core of red berry fruits and lifted floral and confectionary nuances on a soft, thirst-quenching palate. Serve as an aperitif, with canapes and tapas over the next 2 years. Pinot Noir fruit from the ‘Dew’ and ‘Brookby Hill’ vineyards in the Southern Valleys, vines 13 y.o., cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 1,500 cases made. 18.0/20 Aug 2016 RRP $24.00
